Area Youth Attend Penn State Conservation School
Through the efforts of the St. Marys Sportsmen's Club, in cooperation with the St. Marys Rotary Club, St. Marys Lions Club, N.W.T.F. Wapiti Roost Chapter, and Innovative Sintered Metals, four local youths were privileged to attend the Penn State Conservation Leadership School. Penn State's Conservation Leadership Schools are one-week outdoor workshops for high school students interested in natural resource management, conservation, and exploring solutions to environmental problems. Students learn about the world by exploring the world in forests and fields, in streams, and on lakes. The classroom includes over 700 acres of forest, fields, wetlands and streams. Learning about the environment goes hand in hand with having fun, meeting new friends, and learning leadership skills.
